Realism Unit Project- *Print out your specific Slave Narrative (see above) and bring a copy to class!! Also- Bring your laptop if you have one! Friday-3/20- SCARLET LETTER SEMINAR Please come prepared to speak and discuss the Scarlet Letter themes and ideas with your classmates. What did you think about the answers to the different questions? You will be required to speak at least 3 times. Timed Writing- Please bring your VOCABULARY Book or a PRINT-OUT from Quizlet Units 1-3 Level F- which will give you the words and definitions so you can incorporate the words into your essay. Thursday 3/19- GOTHIC STORY! Wednesday 3/18- Edgar Allan Poe Activity DAY! :) Thursday-3/12- Transcendentalism Seminar- Please come prepared with your section filled out- be prepared to bring in different ideas- and discuss the literature. What did you think about it. What are some other thoughts in connection to what we're reading/etc. Monday- 3/9- "Self Reliance" 1 page speech is due. This is a modern-day version of Emerson's speech. You should write this to other 11th grade students, encouraging them not to conform and to be themselves. Quote Emerson- by typing in "Self Reliance quotes" to google. Choose one that fits for your speech. It can be TYPED or Handwritten. It should be about 1 page. Also- Keep reading Scarlet Letter chapters 17-24! Finish up the book! Work on editing/finishing up your Grad. Paper- DUE on Wednesday!
